    1. Thank you Vern,
      This stone structure is the only remaining artifact from an iron smelter that operated at the Cumberland Gap almost 150 – 200 years ago. There is a locked iron gate at the opening with just enough space to stick a camera inside. It took a number of tries to get a good view and acceptable exposure. A neat place to visit.
